Eating din, on my blog

They're playing the Harry P soundtrack on the Weather Channel right now! Hahaha!

What do you do for fun in your spare time?

I spend most of my time sewing. I buy used clothing from Salvation Army and make them fit me. Sometimes I give them to friends (Sylvie) and family (Maddie) because I know I have too many clothes and I like to give people presents. I sew my friends' pants into skinnies and in return get to borrow them! Aside from being a good time-passer, it also helped me develop creatively. I found a suitcase of material in my attic and my gramma gave me a tin of buttons recently, so I've been making my own clothing by mixing patterns and my own imagination.
I'm also very interested in music. I've played the piano for 9 years now. I love the usic and my teacher and it has really taught me a lot about music--not just how to play, but how to really feeel the music (groove)((thang)). I tried to expand out and go a synth, but I don't have the right cord to connect it to my amp, so I haven't played it in a while. I want to learn the bass next year and form an all girl punk band if I meet the right grrlz. I read a lot about music and go to shows with I can [get the money]. But now that I'm making bank at my job, Hello NY.

Where do you imagine yourself to be in 10 years?

In ten years I hope to have a job that allows me to work in different countries. I hope to have graduated from grad school somewhere and have traveled. I want to travel so badly! I hope that I will have worked with an environmental organizations helping to save animals and maybe some conservations and agriculture. I want to travel to a different country and work on an organic farm. this is more about what I want to have accomplished, I just realized, but I think that's okay because they will all form who I will be in ten years. I also hope to have gone on a road trip to Mexico and a nice beach vacation on the west coast.

  1. haha... groove thang....

I hope you keep sewing--and go on to be a famous fashion designer (so I can buy your clothes...) or maybe a musician, so I can say I knew you when--but what ever you do, Big Mama, I am so glad I got to know you (even a little...)!
